During much of the time period Documented in this book, I was living in Australia. I was very aware of the events but they took place far away and the Australian press did not focus on every activity of the United States; why would they? I appreciated the opportunity to learn firsthand from the players living through this change in history.The writing is very concise, to the point and textbook like. A lot of the emotion and drama doesn't come through. What does come through loud and clear is how difficult a transition from one president to the next can be even when it's the same party and the prior vice President! Regardless of their big jobs, people are not infallible, mistakes can be made and lessons learned.
